Leadership

Before Hollywood Forever, Andy built his foundation in cemetery sales and funeral pre-need sales, then founded his own funeral home sales and marketing agency — becoming the first agency in California appointed by Great Western Insurance Company, which has since grown into one of the predominant pre-need insurance carriers in the U.S. That agency and cemetery work, combined with his roots in grassroots political organizing and connections built pursuing opportunities in entertainment, is what brought him to Hollywood Forever’s attention.

Andy’s career ramped up dramatically at Hollywood Forever Cemetery starting in 1998, shortly after Tyler Cassity purchased the historic, bankrupt property. As Vice President, Andy directed sales, marketing, and development, growing annual revenue roughly tenfold by 2005 — driven largely by mausoleum and niche sales that turned a land-locked cemetery behind Paramount Studios into one of the industry’s most celebrated turnarounds. He led the development of the tallest mausoleum in the United States, built a culturally diverse team (including the eventual founder of the Green Burial Council), and launched the first Day of the Dead celebration held on cemetery grounds in the U.S. — an event that has since grown into one of the property’s largest annual revenue drivers, now drawing over 30,000 attendees each year. He also produced a live jazz weekend on the grounds — A Tribute to Woody Herman, featuring the Woody Herman Orchestra and alumni representing all of Woody’s “Herds” alongside three Grammy Award winners and college jazz programs from the Berklee College of Music, USC, Cal State Northridge, and Cal State Fullerton — filmed and recorded at a professional broadcast level. The concert proved the concept: live music programming on cemetery grounds continued long after and has since grown into a significant, recurring revenue source for the property across multiple genres.

From there, Andy also held the title of Vice President for Fernwood, the pioneering natural burial cemetery in Mill Valley, during Hollywood Forever’s ownership of the property — though his hands-on focus during that period was concentrated on Hollywood Forever’s mausoleum program, the live concert series, and a sister project in Kansas City. He’s since built long-term consulting relationships across the Bay Area: directing pre-need sales and marketing for Duggan’s Funeral Service, one of San Francisco’s oldest family-owned funeral homes, and — under Caring Service Group’s ownership — leading master planning, land use, inventory development, sales, and marketing for both Pleasant Hills Memorial Park and Valley Memorial Park.

Andy holds California Cemetery Manager, Cemetery Broker, Funeral Director and Insurance Producer licenses, and is the named inventor on two U.S. patents — Interment Apparatus and Methods, and Monolithic Columbarium Unit — with more in process through Trimontium Systems, one of The Eildons Group’s subsidiaries. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

In 2025, Sadie co-led the 3-day homecoming ceremonies for 2nd Lt. Thomas V. Kelly Jr., a WWII airman returned home 81 years after his death — an effort that drew national press coverage and the family’s lasting gratitude.
